There's been a little bit of chat about the Fruits of the Spirit this week which has prompted me to print out an activity sheet for my kids on the matter. It dealt with not just the fruits of the spirit but what Satan's opposite of each individual fruit was. I thought this would be very helpful for them in recognising not only when God was in control, but also when Satan was attacking them and consequently when sin was ruling their life.
So I thought others may like to know the "opposites" as I also found this very helpful.
So here they are ....
Fruit of the Spirit vs Satan’s (Sin's) Opposites
Love - 1 Corinthinans 13
Fear - 2 Timothy 1:7 Worry caused by the presence of danger
Joy - Nehemiah 8:10 A very glad feeling. The joy of the Lord is our strength.
Anger - Ephesians 4:26-27 A feeling of displeasure and hostility.
Peace - John 14:27 Freedom from war, harmony, serenity, calm, quiet.
Turmoil, - 1 Corinthians 14:33 A very excited and confused condition.
Longsuffering - Numbers 14:18 Bearing trouble patiently for a long time.
Impatience Annoyance, restlessness.
Kindness Sympathetic, gentle, generous.
Hatred - Matthew 24:12 Strong dislike.
Goodness State of being good; virtue, kindness.
Revenge, - Romans 12:19-20 To inflict injury in return. To feel or show hurt.
Faithfulness True and loyal follower.
Unfaithfulness; - Mark 13:12 Failing to stay loyal, or keep a vow or promise.
Gentleness Kind, patient, not violent, tame.
Violence, - Proverbs 29:9 Physical force used to injure or damage. Unjust harm done.
Self-Control Control of one’s own emotions, desires and actions.
Selfishness - 2 Timothy 3:1-5 Too much concerned with one’s own interests and welfare.
